Should the Boston Celtics try to trade for Dallas Mavericks big man Daniel Gafford? The Celtics are trying to find answers for their frontcourt of the future after the exits of Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, and Luke Kornet this offseason, and the Mavs are staring down a retooling or perhaps even rebuilding season in the wake of several injuries and poor health.

This should, on its surface, hint at a potential deal to be made between the two teams that battled it out in the 2024 NBA Finals, the Mavs having famously fouled up their situation by dealing away Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers since. That might make them a bit more gun shy to make moves with a recent rival — and it of course all depends on what the offer was to begin with.
