Everyone deserves a sweet treat now and then—even animals! Treats can be a great way to train pets and reinforce positive behaviors, though our furry friends may prefer savory flavors over sweet ones. Unless, of course, they’re a foodie who will eat anything, just like @diedietoks neighborhood squirrel!
Since Diedie and her husband share a November 20 birthday, they also decided to share a box of Crumbl cookies to celebrate. It must have also been the squirrel’s birthday, too, though, because the cheeky critter had already dug in by the time Diedie opened the door for the cookie delivery! The birthday girl was stunned to find the culprit red-handed, but the unapologetic squirrel wasn’t even fazed.
OMG, look at this thief! He knows he’s committing a crime, but he doesn’t even care who’s watching. All that mattered in that moment was him and his cookies, even if they were about to be interrupted.
“Look how big he is,” commenter @gemini.erin.monaco commented. “It’s clearly not his first heist!” This sneaky squirrel clearly knows how to find a bite to eat, which explains just how unapologetic he was after he was busted.

My favorite thing about this ambitious squirrel is the dollop of icing on his nose. There’s no hiding evidence like that! Even if he had tried to play it cool, the unwavering eye contact and messy face gave away his naughty scheme.
Even Crumbl itself commented on this adorable animal video, because this company knows its cookies are “too good to resist!” Diedie definitely agrees, which is why she asked nicely for a replacement order after hers was stolen by this cookie thief. One day and one thousand replies later, no one knows whether she got her replacement!
Squirrels in November
Although most squirrels do not hibernate in winter, they do stay in their burrows almost all winter long. These animals rely on stored food like acorns, nuts, and seeds to stay fed, and they help combat the cold by sharing dens and bulking up with an extra layer of fat.
It’s highly likely this cookie thief was eating as much as possible to fatten up for the cold months ahead, though breaking into a cookie box is still an unconventional choice. Once he tasted the sweetness, however, he knew there was no turning back.
