Convicted fraudster Breifne O’Brien joined Tourism Ireland at several overseas events promoting Ireland as a world-class golf destination in his new career as a golf travel adviser.
O’Brien, now 63, was jailed for seven years in 2014 for duping long-standing friends and business associates out of millions in a Ponzi scheme. When he was declared bankrupt while still in prison, he had debts of more than €40m.
