FORT WORTH – With profound love and deep sadness, the family of Franziska Antonia Mullan announces her peaceful passing on November 18, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on October 22, 1940, in Pretoria, South Africa, after her family fled Austria as a result of Hitler’s Anschluss in 1938, Franzi’s life was a remarkable testament to faith, family, and unwavering compassion. A devout Catholic, Franzi lived each day guided by a quiet, steady devotion to God. Her faith was not merely practiced-it was embodied in the way she cared for others, always giving, always nurturing, and always seeing the good in every soul she encountered. Her heart seemed to have no limits, and those who knew her felt it deeply. Franzi’s greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of Bertram Strancham Mullan for 64 years, her partner in what was a beautiful love story-one built on steadfast devotion, laughter, gentleness, and a bond that only strengthened with time. Together they created a home filled with warmth and love, a legacy that continues through their children: Gavin, *Wayne, Glen, Bradley, and Nicola. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt-roles she embraced with her whole heart. Her grandchildren-Katie, Michael, Claire, Lauren, Asa, Sister Veronica Marie, Thomas, Megan, Natalie, Rebecca, Emma, Dominic, Brendan, and John Paul-and her great-grandchildren-Matthew, Jack, Maddie, Millie, Leo, Levi, Alec, and Asa-were her pride and delight. She celebrated each of them, cheering their accomplishments, comforting their sorrows, and showering them with the kind of unconditional love that shaped their lives. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Hildegard Masur, her sisters, Erika Pöllabauer and Inge Masur, and her son *Wayne Mullan. Franzi’s love extended far beyond family, and her friendships were among the greatest treasures of her life. She was a friend in the truest sense-a loyal confidante, a steady presence, and a source of laughter and comfort. Her friends knew her as someone who remembered every birthday, checked in during the quiet moments, and showed up without being asked. She built deep, lifelong bonds, and she nurtured those relationships with the same devotion she gave to everything she loved. Her circle of friends was wide, but each one felt personally cherished. Franzi had a joyful spirit and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. Whether sharing a heartfelt conversation or a playful joke, she brought light wherever she went. Though our hearts ache with her loss, we take comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into eternal rest, her faith fulfilled, and her soul reunited with those who journeyed before her. Her life was a blessing; her memory is a treasure; her love remains with us always. Franziska Antonia Mullan leaves behind a legacy built on compassion, joy, devotion, and a love that will continue to guide her family for generations. May she rest in God’s everlasting peace.
