The district hosted a pop-up event at 11 campuses, where it provided prepared meals to enjoy breakfast and lunch at home for three days.
DALLAS — The Dallas Independent School District is doing its part to feed children in the community during Thanksgiving break.
Many North Texas families struggle with food insecurity, which can make it difficult for them to fully enjoy the holiday season.
Monday, the district hosted free “pop-up” meal services for all children across 11 of its school campuses. Three days of breakfast and lunch, specially prepared to warm up and enjoy at home, were provided to all children from 1 to 18 years old and children with disabilities up to 21 years old.
Children must be present to pick up meals. For a map of the serving sites and additional information, click here. The full map is also provided below.
Dallas ISD says the program is made possible by its teams and community partners.
