CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers are sitting at 9-7 despite players continuing to be in and out of the lineup. While the injuries haven’t been as drastic as the 2024-25 season, the Sixers have only had Joel Embiid for six games and Paul George for three and they have not seen the entire Big 3 play in a game together just yet.
With that being said, the Sixers have found a way to win. The offensive system of everybody touching the ball and getting looks within the flow of the offense has been a big help and Tyrese Maxey is playing at an MVP level. Those things have made it a bit easier to handle the players being in and out of the lineup.

“It’s a little different, I guess, but it’s, I mean, like, we just have a good mentality this year on it,” Maxey explained. “Just like, whoever’s playing is playing. Whoever’s not is not, and they’re going to cheer their teammates on. Kind of just like flow right into a spot, flow right into the system of what we’re doing of trying to move the ball. Everybody be able to touch the ball. Everybody make plays. Everybody shoot the ball, do different things like that.”
The Sixers have experience in this area of the game due to all of the injuries from the previous season. Of course, they would like everybody to play every single game. The reality is, that just isn’t a realistic possibility or thought process for this group. Not with Embiid as they look to deliver a healthy version of the 2023 MVP winner to the playoffs.
“We want everybody to be healthy,” Maxey finished. “Everybody to play every single game. If it was up to me. We would all play 82 games, but we know that’s probably not going to happen, and that’s not possible, but you just have the next man up mentality, and we move on from there.”
The Sixers will face the Orlando Magic on Tuesday in the NBA Cup.
