The west end area in Downtown Dallas is under an evacuation order after an underground gas leak was reported near 302 N. Market St., according to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials.
According to DFR Public Information Officer Jason Evans, DFR was dispatched to the scene at around 9:05 a.m., and a number of teams and agencies are working the incident, including DFR’s HazMat team, Atmos Energy and Dallas police.
Evans said most roads in the area have been blocked off and evacuations are ongoing.
Dallas police and Atmos Energy did not immediately respond to The Dallas Morning News’ email requests for more information.
