After years of anticipation, Singapore’s xiao long bao specialist Paradise Dynasty just made its Los Angeles debut. The restaurant opened on Friday, November 21, at the Americana at Brand, in the former Din Tai Fung space. Joining Paradise Dynasty at the Americana is Le Shrimp Noodle Bar, a sister restaurant serving shrimp broth noodles. This is the second U.S. location for Paradise Dynasty, which made its stateside debut in 2021 at South Coast Plaza; Le Shrimp Noodle Bar also has locations at South Coast Plaza and Irvine Spectrum.

Paradise Dynasty Glendale location serves eight flavors of xiao long bao, including black truffle, kimchi, garlic, barbecue pulled pork, and crab roe. Alongside dumplings, find fluffy pan-fried Shanghai pork buns, sweet-and-sour chicken, pork chop fried rice, and crispy prawns with walnuts. Desserts span chewy black sesame mochi, a chocolate lava bun decorated to look like a panda, salted egg yolk xiao long bao, and chilled mango pudding.

Chris Amirault (Baroo, Steep LA, the Maybourne) developed a new cocktail menu for the Glendale restaurant. Guests can sip on the tropical, gin-based Singapore Sling, whose roots can be traced back to 1915 at Singapore’s Raffles Hotel. The Lychee Kiss is Amirault’s take on a lychee martini, while the Dynasty Heat hews closer to a spicy margarita.

The menu at Le Shrimp Noodle Bar, set right next door to Paradise Dynasty, centers on long-simmered shrimp broth tinged with chicken, star anise, cinnamon, and white peppercorn. The broth features in dishes like the trio shrimp noodle with whole prawns, prawn and chicken wontons, and ebiko prawn paste meatballs, along with prawn and chicken wonton noodle, and spicy prawn and braised scallion soy chicken shrimp noodle; each bowl comes with a choice of thick or thin noodles. Alongside noodle soups, Le Shrimp Noodle bar serves crispy chicken karaage, Le Shrimp Taco in a fried wonton shell, and a Glendale-exclusive Hainanese chicken.

As Paradise Dynasty and Le Shrimp Noodle Bar settle into their new homes, Paradise Group founder and CEO Eldwin Chua already has his eyes on the next expansion. Paradise Dynasty is set to open in San Diego sometime in 2026, while Le Shrimp Noodle Bar is headed to Chicago, and potentially Texas.

Paradise Dynasty and Le Shrimp Noodle Bar are located at 177 Caruso Avenue, Glendale, CA 91210.
