The Scottsdale Unified School District governing board are expected to make the decision whether or not to close Pima Elementary and Echo Canyon K-8 schools during its Nov. 9. meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in the governing board room at Coronado High School, 7501 E. Virginia Ave. in Scottsdale.

Board members did not respond to request for comment for this story, but board members Amy Carney and Carine Werner have suggested in past meetings they do not support District Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel’s recommendation to repurpose the two schools.
