Beautiful holiday weekend weather for Phoenix area before cooldown

  • November 28, 2025

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — As promised, it has been a classic Thanksgiving across the Valley and the state! High clouds have been drifting up from the south, but temperatures have already reached the high 70s by early Thursday afternoon.

Skies should clear overnight for a clear and crisp start to Black Friday. Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s in some of the colder areas.

High pressure will flatten, and temperatures should moderate by a few degrees to the mid-70s. Still, kickoff temperatures for the Territorial Cup should be in the upper 60s for perfect game-time conditions.

For the rest of the holiday weekend, a storm system should have less of an impact than was first thought at the beginning of the week. The current forecast tracks put the storm north of the state, with Valley rain chances less than 10% for Sunday night and into Monday.

But we can’t rule out a chance of showers, windy and a tiny bit of snow overnight in the higher elevations. Sunny and mild and the beginning of the week, with another, more potent system targeting Arizona late into the week, around Thursday.

Snow and rain chances are possible, but the track and amount of moisture available are still uncertain at this point. Highs will dip back into the 60s starting Wednesday and into the weekend.
