An investigation is ongoing after a 5-year-old boy died last week following a suspected three-story fall from a Fort Worth apartment building.

According to Fort Worth police, officers were called just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, to 650 North Main Street, where apartment managers said a child was unconscious on the ground after falling out of the building.

Police said the child was immediately rushed to Cook Children’s Hospital south of downtown. The child died of his injuries early Friday morning.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the child and said he died of accidental blunt force injuries to his head.

Officials said the boy’s mother was questioned and the investigation into his death is ongoing.
