PHOENIX — As animal shelters across the state are over capacity, one local shelter is holding a free adoption event to help clear up space.

The Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) will be waiving adoption fees for all pets at its main shelter from Dec. 2 through Dec. 15.

The main shelter, which is located near 40th and Washington streets, is open from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday.

Every adoption includes spaying or neutering services, vaccinations, a microchip and access to the shelter’s post-adoption support team.

The list of adoptable dogs and cats can be found online.

We want to hear from you.
