On Friday afternoon, outside of the Highland Hotel in East Dallas, tour buses bearing Afrobeats star Burna Boy’s face were conspicuously parked.

The Nigerian singer, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, brought his No Sign of Weakness Tour to the American Airlines Center on Monday night, where he sang a medley of old hits and new songs from his latest namesake album.

Most musicians travel swiftly in and out of the cities they tour, but Burna Boy appeared to be enjoying his time in Dallas-Fort Worth, posting on Thanksgiving a video of him go-karting around a track in Caddo Mills.

His next two concerts – stops in Minneapolis and Chicago – are marked as cancelled on Ticketmaster. It’s unclear why the shows have been called off.

Burna Boy caught flack in recent weeks after he refused to continue performing until a woman he caught asleep in the front row of his concert left. Some fans, who regarded the move as harsh, urged others to skip the singer’s remaining shows.

Speculation has swirled on social media around whether the recent cancellations are linked to the backlash.

Contrary to blog reports, though, No Sign of Weakness Tour is currently scheduled to resume on Dec. 3 at Boston’s TD Garden.
