PHOENIX (KVOA) – A 39-year-old man was arrested and faces felony charges after a weeks-long investigation into auto thefts in the Phoenix area.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Rafael Felix, 39, faces felony charges including theft of means of transportation, theft control of property, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The man’s charges come after the AZDPS Vehicle Theft Task Force detectives recovered four stolen trailers, two stolen vehicles, and a dismantled stolen vehicle recently.
AZDPS said two other suspects were arrested on drug-related charges and felony warrants.
The task force plays a crucial role in reducing vehicle theft across Arizona, supported by an annual grant from the Arizona Auto Theft Authority. This funding aids their efforts in enforcement, prosecution and public awareness programs, AZDPS said in a Facebook post.
