The investigation into both crashes remains active, officials say.

DALLAS — Two people were killed in two separate crashes in Dallas early Saturday, police say. 

Officers responded to a crash in the 8400 block of Walnut Hill Lane around 1 a.m. and took two people to a local hospital, and one of the two was pronounced dead, officials say.

Then, officers were called to another crash in the northbound lanes of the South R.L. Thornton Freeway near the 70000 block around 3 a.m., police say. 

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the driver involved in that crash dead at the scene, police say. 

The investigation into both crashes remains active.
