PHOENIX — A fight between two motorcyclists led to gunshots and a man getting hit by a car near a Phoenix highway on Friday night.
Phoenix police responded to a crash involving two motorcyclists near 7th Avenue and Interstate 17 just before 11 p.m., authorities said.
While officers were on their way to the site of the crash, they learned the two motorcycle riders had gotten into a fight that led to a shooting.
The man who fired the shots was then hit by a vehicle, according to police.
The Phoenix Fire Department took both the shooting victim and the man hit by the vehicle to the hospital in critical condition.
The man hit by the vehicle died at the hospital, authorities said.
Police located the driver and the vehicle near the scene and detained the driver.
Detectives have since taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing. No other information was made available.
