Now, it has emerged that Alcaraz has gone back to his traditional style by reverting to a black buzzcut. Earlier this week, he was spotted at an NBA game in Miami and there was no hair dye in sight.

Alcaraz will be hoping that his decision brings good fortune ahead of his matches against Tiafoe and Fonseca, who recently withdrew from the Next Gen ATP Finals due to an injury.

The two-time Wimbledon champion is among those to have complained about the ATP calendar in recent months, leading to accusations of hypocrisy over his decision to sign up for exhibition events.

Responding to those claims, he recently said: “First of all, it’s normal that people think that way and they don’t understand why we’re complaining about the calendar and then we set up the exhibition matches.

“But for me, the main difference is that, at a tournament, you’ve got to keep your focus and it’s really physically and mentally demanding for one week and a half, and an exhibition is just one day.”

It comes after Emma Raducanu flaunted her own new hairstyle, with the young Brit treating herself to an end-of-season makeover.

On Instagram, hairdresser Nicola Noviello shared Raducanu’s fresh style that he created for the tennis star. The post read: “Italian hands, British elegance. A fresh new look for Emma Raducanu, grazie for trusting me with your style!”

Raducanu replied: ‘You’re the best best’, before sharing the post on her own Instagram profile. She had previously shown off her new hairstyle in a series of images, in which she also posed with a mystery man.

The former US Open champion has fuelled dating speculation after spending time with Jack Coman, who is from New Zealand and is believed to work in finance.

Raducanu was pictured leaving her south-west London flat alongside Coman last weekend. He was later spotted sitting behind her at Twickenham as they watched England’s 33-19 victory over the All Blacks.
