PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation is now offering three new specialty license plates that each will see their proceeds go toward charitable causes.

Phoenix Mercury, Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Verde Valley Wine Trail-themed plates are available, ADOT said.

The plates start at $25 and $17 will go to respective charities.

Those who want to personalize the plate’s message can do so for an additional $25 per year.

MVD now offers 109 different license plate options, which can be ordered online.

Specialty plates have been offered in Arizona since 1989.

According to ADOT, sales of specialty plates contributed more than $14.5 million for charitable causes during the fiscal year that ended June 30.

“Specialty license plates offer a fun way to put that personal touch on a vehicle and show your proud support for one of these uniquely Arizona organizations,” MVD Director Eric Jorgensen said in a release.

“MVD is pleased to offer the various plates that will have an impact for the organizations dedicated to helping Arizona and our communities.”

Where ADOT specialty license plates proceeds are going

The Phoenix Mercury license plate will see $17 go to the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation; The Ovarian Cancer Awareness license plate will distribute $17 to programs that provide education, resources and support services to ovarian cancer patients, survivors and caregivers; The Verde Valley Wine Trail-themed plates will have $17 going toward sustainable vineyard practices and responsible driving initiatives.
