SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested after allegedly sending messages threatening mass violence through anonymous police tip line on Thanksgiving, according to an arrest affidavit.
Christopher Stowe, 31, is accused of submitting multiple messages during an online rant threatening mass violence using the San Antonio Police Department’s Tip411 platform.
Court documents state on Thanksgiving Day between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6:44 p.m., SAPD’s tip line received multiple messages from Stowe that were “threatening in nature” and “caused reasonable fear of serious bodily injury and/or death” to the public.
In these messages Stowe threatens to “kill people,” numerous times, specifically targeting San Antonio police and the public, according to the affidavit. Stowe also threatens a mass shooting, mentioning locations such as McDonald’s, the River Walk, and at a Spurs game, documents show.
“I’m gonna be the next mass shooter. I’m gonna kill a lot of f*cking people,” Stowe allegedly stated.
Investigators obtained search warrants for digital records associated with the message access codes. Digital evidence revealed on the dates and times the threatening messages were sent, the device was located near Stowe’s known workplace and his home.
Stowe was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a terroristic threat charge on Saturday. Jail records show he has since been released on a $50,000 bond.
