PHOENIX – Authorities have identified the two motorcyclists who died after a violent turn of events in south Phoenix on Friday night.

Job Martinez, 53, allegedly shot 36-year-old Scott Kikes before Martinez was run over by a witness to the shooting, the Phoenix Police Department said Monday.

The deadly shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. Friday while the motorcyclists were stopped at a traffic light near Seventh Avenue and Interstate 17.

A driver who saw the shooting drove into Martinez, police said.

The motorist remained at the scene and was released after being questioned.

Two motorcyclists died at hospital

Martinez and Kikes both succumbed to their injuries after being hospitalized.

“The circumstances leading up to the initial shooting are all part of the ongoing investigation,” Sgt. Jen Zak said in a media advisory.
