Two Dallas Police Department employees, an officer and a trainee, were terminated after disciplinary hearings with Chief Daniel Comeaux, the department said Monday.
According to the statement, Officer Scott Simpson, who worked in the Central Division, was fired for “engaging in adverse conduct when he was arrested for unauthorized release of body worn camera recording,” a Class A misdemeanor.
He also combed through confidential investigative documents for non-departmental purposes, the statement said.
Simpson had been with the department since November 2019, according to the statement.

According to department records, Simpson was first placed on leave on Aug. 16, 2024.
Officer Trainee III Adrian Alcorta was terminated for “engaging in adverse conduct” when he was arrested on family violence charges, a Class C misdemeanor, the statement said.
He’d been employed with the department since April 2023. According to department records, Alcorta was first placed on leave on April 23, 2025.
