The Fourth of July holiday itself is already in the books, but celebrations are far from over as the festive weekend continues.
At least one magnificent fireworks display in Chicago is still on the docket.
A special Independence Day celebration fireworks show at Navy Pier will commence at 10 p.m. The 15-minute display along the lakefront will be longer than Navy Pier’s twice-weekly 10-minute fireworks shows, according to organizers.
The special edition is presented by Navy Pier, Choose Chicago, the Chicago Sports Commission and the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, which takes place this weekend.
Aren’t able to catch the action?
Navy Pier has plenty of fireworks on the docket this summer. Twice weekly shows, at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10 p.m. on Saturdays, will take place through Aug. 30.
For those in the suburbs, there are a few options for July 5th fireworks.

And in northwest Indiana, fireworks in Cedar Lake are planned at 9:30 p.m. as part of the town’s Summerfest.
