PHOENIX — Chinese restaurant chain Panda Express will open its newest Phoenix location on Wednesday.

A community celebration will take place at 4322 W. Thomas Road starting at 8:30 a.m.

The first 88 adult guests in line will receive a free T-shirt, while guests under 18 will get Panda headbands.

The California-based fast food restaurant chain will host an official ribbon-cutting, according to Jesus Toloza, Panda Express’ area coach of operations.

“Our entire Panda team is grateful to serve the Phoenix community by providing nearly 40 new jobs and supporting local organizations through fundraising opportunities,” Toloza said in a Tuesday announcement.

As part of the celebration, Panda Express will present a $1,000 check to St. Mary’s Food Bank.

“We hope to be a lasting part of the community and welcome all guests to try our American Chinese favorites and discover their own,” Toloza said.

The new restaurant will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
