Krampusnacht Comes to Philly: Flash Tattoos, Night Market, Art Show & Burlesque Take Over Houndstooth Tattoo and Prism Arts
Published on December 3, 2025
Philly is getting its own dose of holiday mischief as Krampusnacht arrives at Houndstooth Tattoo and Prism Arts for a full day of dark festive fun. On Saturday, guests can celebrate the naughty side of the season with Krampus-themed flash tattoos, a holiday night market, an art show, and a late-night 18+ burlesque performance.
The celebration begins at Houndstooth Tattoo (1022 Buttonwood St.) from 12 PM to 8 PM, where artists will offer Krampus-inspired flash tattoos for anyone looking to ink their love of folklore, winter monsters, or the darker side of December tradition.
Starting at 5 PM, the festivities continue just around the corner at Prism Arts, where a Krampus-themed night market and art show will showcase unique, locally made gifts, art pieces, home goods, oddities, and handmade creations. The market runs until 9 PM, followed by a Krampus-themed burlesque show at 10 PM (18+ only)—a devilishly fun finale to a night of winter wickedness.\
Originating in Alpine regions such as Austria, Germany, and parts of Eastern Europe, Krampusnacht (or “Krampus Night”) is celebrated annually on December 5. While Saint Nicholas rewards the good children, Krampus—a horned, furry creature known for rattling chains and carrying birch branches—visits the naughty ones.
Over the centuries, Krampusnacht has grown into a beloved winter tradition blending folklore, fright, and festive celebration. Parades, costume events, and art markets dedicated to Krampus have spread across Europe and the U.S., inspiring a modern cultural revival of spooky holiday cheer.
The Krampus Night Market at Prism Arts isn’t just about spooky vibes—it’s a chance to support local artists and small businesses during the holiday season. Attendees can browse original artwork, handmade goods, candles, prints, jewelry, botanical products, treats, and more. Whether you’re gift shopping or treating yourself, the market highlights the creativity and craftsmanship of Philly’s independent makers.
Shopping local ensures your dollars go directly back into the community—and you’ll walk away with gifts you won’t find anywhere else.
