PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Nov. 26, 2025:
Sophia’s Kitchen – 17050 N Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale
3 violations:
- Alfredo sauce not cooling properly
- Marinara sauce not kept hot enough
- Cheese and cooked chicken not kept at proper temperature
Vito’s Pizza and Ristorante – 1947 N Lindsay Rd, Mesa
3 violations:
- Bag of raw sausage stored over bags of cheese
- Minestrone soup not cooling correctly
- Deli meats and lettuce not kept cold enough
Downtown Chandler Café and Bakery – 40 S San Marcos Pl, Chandler
3 violations:
- Container of hollandaise sauce not kept hot enough
- Cream cheese filling kept past discard date
- Four stacks of butter not held at proper temperature
Holiday Inn Express – 1405 S Westwood, Mesa
4 violations:
- No certified food manager
- No paper towels at hand wash sink
- Boxes of raw bacon stored above milk containers
- Eggs and sausage links not date marked
Ranch House Grill – 5618 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix
4 violations:
- Molded strawberries in walk-in cooler
- Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
- Walk-in cooler shelves rusted with organic matter
- Eggs not kept cold enough
