Check out these six updates on developments underway or planned in Keller, Roanoke and northeast Fort Worth. This list is not comprehensive.
1. Fort Worth council approves $180M water treatment plant expansion project
Project: A financial agreement with the Texas Department Water Development Board was approved by Fort Worth City Council Aug. 26 for a $180 million expansion project at Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant.
The expansion will deliver an additional 35 million gallons per day to Fort Worth, which will then be available to 33 wholesale customer cities.
Update: A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the project is underway with an estimated completion date of March 1, 2029. Three new buildings and two open-air canopies are part of the project.
2. First homes for sale in Bella Casa subdivision in Keller
The first three houses in the Bella Casa subdivision are ready for purchase.
The website for American Legend Homes shows that 12 of the 31 lots have been sold. Three newly constructed homes are now available, according to sales associate Holly Henderson. Those houses are priced at either $929,000 or $1.1 million and have four bedrooms with either 3.5 or 4.5 baths.
3. Gov. Greg Abbott: Ariat International to grow Fort Worth headquarters, add 150 local jobs
Project: Ariat International, an equestrian clothing and footwear company, will expand its regional headquarters in Fort Worth, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Dec. 3 in a news release. An agreement between Ariat International and the city of Fort Worth was already approved by City Council in December 2024 for the construction of a new regional distribution center, which will result in approximately $72.6 million in capital investment and 250 new jobs, and the original headquarters expansion, which adds 100 jobs.
Update: The additional expansion will create 150 new jobs and nearly $9 million in capital investment, according to the release. The company also received $1.5 million for the expansion from a Texas Enterprise Fund grant.
4. Roanoke Sports Complex update: 5 fields to open in September
Project: A new timeline for the Roanoke Sports Complex states that construction will begin by the end of December or early January, with the first five baseball fields opening for tournaments in fall 2026, said Dave Dickson, co-founder of Play It Forward and developer of the Roanoke Sports Complex.
Update: Construction for the first five baseball fields will be completed by September and the remaining three fields will be finished by February 2027, Dickson said.
5. Fort Worth launches Alliance Logistics District to streamline regional freight traffic
Project: BNSF Railway, Hillwood and the city of Fort Worth have announced the creation of the Alliance Logistics District. The district will serve as a first-of-its-kind mobility logistics hub within the Smart Port at AllianceTexas, redefining how freight moves through North Texas while reducing traffic on public roads, according to a news release.
Update: The news release announced Hillwood is investing $20 million in a private heavy-haul bridge over FM 156. The three-lane bridge would be engineered for 120,000-pound axle loads and would reduce truck traffic on public roads. Construction is expected to be completed by late 2026.
6. Construction on Resia North City apartments underway in Fort Worth
Resia North City apartments are currently being constructed near US 287 and North Tarrant Parkway in Fort Worth by the North City shopping and dining development.
Plans for the $45 million complex were announced more than three years ago, according to previous reporting. At the time, construction was slated to start in March 2023.
