The Owls have seen massive success this season under the new head coach Jerry Mack.
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — The Kennesaw State Owls won its first-ever Conference USA championship, defeating the Jacksonville State Gamecocks 19-15.
The win is also a bit of redemption this time around. The Owls lost to the Gamecocks 35-26 in their Nov. 15 matchup this season.
Kennesaw State did an about-face this season, with 10 wins and 3 losses. That’s a complete change from last season, when the Owls only won two matchups. The success this year comes under Head Coach Jerry Mack — his first season leading the Owls.
They are also bowl eligible for the first time.
This is also the team’s second season of playing FBS football.
