PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — The Joe Ferry Christmas String Band performs in South Philadelphia each year in memory of loved ones they lost too soon.
In 2019, shortly after the new year celebrations, Joe Ferry, his fiance, Kelly Wiseley, and friend, Dennis Palandro, were killed in a car crash.
In their memory, members of various string band organizations came together to put on a holiday performance. It has since become an annual tradition.
Each year, they ask the community to donate items for the holidays. This time, they collected hats and gloves for area school children.
Watch the video above to see the performance in action and why they keep coming back every year.
