The first-ever Evergreen Enchantment brings lights, laughter, family-friendly activities, and community giving to the heart of Roxborough — all centered around a brand-new Evergreen Christmas Tree Maze and a month of festive programming.

The Christmas Tree Maze: Nov. 28 to Dec. 21
A one-of-a-kind holiday experience built within Gorgas Park’s beloved Christmas tree stand. Chris Meyers and team bring a magical, light-filled maze designed for exploring, learning, and capturing stunning holiday photos. Discover fun historical facts about Christmas trees as you wind your way toward a special surprise photo op at the center!

The Evergreen History Hunt: Digital Scavenger Hunt Nov. 28 to Dec. 21
A self-guided, phone-friendly adventure through Gorgas Park! Follow a digital map to find specially decorated wreaths around the gazebo, War Memorial, and award-winning gardens.
Scan and Learn: Each wreath features a QR code revealing:
- Park History – from the original land donation to modern revitalization
- Flora and Fauna – the park’s 250-plus trees, pollinator gardens and wildlife
Weekly Prizes: Submit your final answer digitally to enter weekly drawings for gift cards and prizes from local Roxborough businesses.
Easy Access: Start anytime using the main QR code at the park entrance.

Toys for Tots Drop-Off: Nov. 28 to Dec. 21
Help make the holidays brighter for local children.
A secure drop-off station will be available daily for new, unwrapped toys. Volunteers will be onsite during “Santa Saturdays” to boost donations and holiday cheer.

Weekend Special Events: Sun, December 7, 11 a.m.: Day of Remembrance with the 21st Ward Veterans Association. Honoring the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy and Marines, including a special Veterans Day reflection.
Sat, December 13, 5 to 8 p.m.: Outdoor Holiday Movie Night. Hot chocolate, popcorn, cotton candy and more from Friends of Gorgas Park, Bring a donation for the Roxborough Library Book Drive.
Sat, December 20, 5 to 8 p.m.: Jingle Bell Rock Nite, Live music from Roxborough’s own Mitchell St. Phillbillies; Santa Visit: 6 to 8 p.m.: Toys for Tots Last Chance Drop-Off. Plus: The Gorgas Park Luminary Path glowing nightly from dusk through park closing
