Brookhaven native and 2018 Brookhaven High School graduate Audrey Williamson was one of 59,226 runners completing the annual TCS NYC Marathon. The event has now been named the biggest marathon in history.

Williamson, who also graduated from Colin Community College and University of Southern Mississippi, has been running since her high school cross country days. She trained with long beach runs where she now lives in Gulfport.

An excited group of family members, including her mom Celeste and sister Leslie traveled to NYC and learned that being a marathon observer is difficult work. They traveled all through the boroughs by subway to see Audrey run by. Millions lined the route that began on Staten Island, extended through all five boroughs, and ended in Central Park in downtown Manhattan.
