SAN ANTONIO – Police are searching for a driver who allegedly hit and injured a cyclist then fled on the city’s South Side.
The crash happened just after midnight on Sunday in the 6900 block of South Flores Street.
Police said a 43-year-old man was riding his bike in the southeast lanes when he heard a vehicle honking. He was then struck from behind by an unknown vehicle who fled the scene without rendering aid. The victim was thrown from his bike, sustaining non life-threatening injuries.
The cyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet identified the vehicle or driver involved. The investigation is ongoing, and police said details may change as more information becomes available.
