If your shopping includes gifts for a child, there’s a woman-owned toy shop that’s got you covered. It is called *play.
It is the largest independent toy store in Chicago. Over the past 15 years, *play has expanded from its original location in Logan Square to five neighborhoods across the city, including Lincoln Park, Andersonville, West Loop and Hyde Park.
Owner Ann Kienzle is a member of the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, for which she has volunteered for over 20 years and sat on the Board of Directors for six years, including a stint as their chair.
A priority for Ann is giving back and building strong communities; *play has donated thousands of toys and books to community organizations through the years ensuring that every child experiences the power of play.
