Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 17 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways during the week of Dec. 6-12.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.8 and 1.9, in the vicinity of East Pūʻainakō Street, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 8-11 for maintaining striping through the intersection.

OCEAN VIEW

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 70 and 83, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping and pavement markers.

PĀHALA TO NĀʻĀLEHU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 50 and 60, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and permanent markers.

PĀHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 50 and 52, in the vicinity of Maile Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for cutting grass.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 27 and 30, in the vicinity of Haunani Road and Kīlauea Military Camp, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for Hawaiian Electric installing new powerline poles and lines.

HIGHWAY 19

HAKALAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction near mile post 15.3, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, 24/7 closure through Dec. 12 for repairs on the foundation of the Hakalau Stream Bridge. Details: Click here.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 22, in the vicinity of Kaiuiki Road and Uweki Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for shoulder work and mowing.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 56.5 and 56.7, in the vicinity of Pukalani Road and Lindsey Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for installing new traffic signals.

KEAʻAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 3, in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for mulching and shoulder work.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for installing new traffic signals.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for adjustments to road surface.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 18, on Monday, December 8 to Friday, December 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HĀWĪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 18, in the vicinity of Mamo Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for tree trimming.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8-12 for painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
