You don’t have to do it all this year. Many Dallas restaurants want to host you for Christmas dinner, and they’re driving a hard bargain. 

Traditional holiday dinners that include turkey or prime rib are up for grabs, as are unique offerings like omakase at home and a good ol’ holiday barbecue. 

No matter which route you take, order before all the good stuff is scooped up. Just need desserts? Plenty of places have you covered for that, too.

Quarter Acre

Chef Toby Archibald is cooking up a festive dinner for four that features a classic beef Wellington, pomme dauphinoise, Brussels sprouts, roasted carrots and a bourbon pecan pie. Extras include Quarter Acre’s signature house-made sourdough bread with New Zealand butter, beef sauce and holiday lollies (that’s what they call “sweet treat” in New Zealand). The meal for four costs $324 per meal. Pre-orders are available online here through Sunday, Dec. 14, for pick-up on Tuesday, Dec. 24, between 1 and 4 p.m.

Hurtado BBQ

The official barbecue of the Texas Rangers has a succinct but effective menu for Christmas dinner to-go this year. It’s offering a mix-and-match style ordering with highlights such as a whole holiday brisket, turkey breast, poblano pepperjack sausage pack, classic pecan pie, apple crumble pie and family-style sides that can feed 10-12 people, depending on the serving sizes. Pre-order for Christmas dinner is open now for pickup on Wednesday, Dec. 24. Place orders on the Hurtado BBQ website.

Ida Claire

Ida Claire’s holiday bakery is back again this year with whole pies, cakes and other baked goods for you to bring to your feast. Offerings include a bourbon pecan pie, cherry pie, hummingbird cake, vice cake (stout cake with coffee buttercream, chocolate ganache, and candied bacon), chocolate chip sea salt cookies and other rotating seasonal favorites from the kitchen. Place orders on the Ida Claire website for varying dates leading to Christmas and New Year’s.

Cafe Momentum
1510 Pacific Ave.
Cafe Momentum is doing a Christmas brunch to-go this year rather than an all-out dinner. The lineup features chef-prepared sweet and savory dishes that you can mix and match for the ideal morning feast. For “something savory,” it has a salt quiche, tortilla Española, Texas bison pastrami, Palmiers with honey mustard and prosciutto and salmon rillettes with aquavit. Sweet options include miso pecan zucchini bread, monkey bread muffins with eggnog icing, Cafe Momentum’s buttermilk biscuits, fruit salad with mint sugar, fruitcake biscotti and brown butter chai madaleines. Brunch orders can be placed online. Orders are open now and pickup is available on Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Susie Cakes

Susie Cakes has a whole roster of holiday sweets for after dinner or for holiday parties. Highlights include the apple crumble pie, vintage Christmas wreath cake, gingerbread cookies, frosted sugar cookie platters and holiday cookie and cupcake kits. Orders can be placed for delivery or local pick-up on the Susie Cakes website.

Whiskey Cake

Prime beef or ham? Whiskey Cake has created two holiday dinner kits with your choice of protein, plus bourbon and rosemary gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, creamed Brussels sprouts, potato rolls with honey butter and a signature stuffing with ground turkey sausage, poblano pepper and gouda. Add-ons like sweet potato casserole or mac n cheese with bacon fat breadcrumbs will spruce up the table. Place orders online until Monday, Dec. 22, for pick-up between Tuesday, Dec. 23 ,or Wednesday, Dec. 24. The prime rib kit cost $195. For ham it’s $100, and they both feed five people.

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille

Perry’s Steakhouse Grille has two holiday menus available for dine-in or takeout. The first is the standard prix fixe menu that costs $69 per person and includes your choice of soup or salad, one entree and one dessert. The other option is the rare and well-done prix fixe menu that costs $125 per person and includes a starter of your choice, plus your choice of soup or salad, one entree, and one dessert. The second option has higher price point items like surf and turf, tempura fried lobster tail and a pan-seared sea bass. Goodwins

Goodwins has a feast to serve 6-8 people this holiday season. Its menu style is a mix-and-match with sides, salads, appetizers, desserts and center table meats. Highlights are the peppercorn herb-crusted prime rib, baked ziti Bolognese, ditalini mac n cheese, potato gratin, sliced foccacia, chicken kofta meatballs, JLB baller cheese ball, a Caesar-esque salad and an entire cookie butter cheesecake for dessert. Order online for pickup on Tuesday, Dec. 23 ,or Wednesday, Dec. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Uchi, Uchibā and Uchiko

All three of Hai Hospitality’s signature restaurants are serving an omakase at home if you don’t want to go the traditional route. The box costs $120 and includes 12 pieces of nigiri, two makimono, a signature hama chili, chicken karaage, Brussels sprouts and a pint of ice cream (fried milk from Uchi and Uchibā or a pint of s’mores from Uchiko). Add on a half bottle of Laurent Perrier Champagne for $30. This promotion is at any of the three locations and is available for pickup or delivery via DoorDash.
