When Waxahatchee‘s Katie Crutchfield and her twin sister and collaborator Allison began teasing a new project ahead of the surprise release of their debut album as Snocaps, there was some speculation that they were reuniting their old band P.S. Eliot. That wound up not being the case, but in the end we sort of are getting a P.S. Eliot reunion after all. Katie, Allison, their Snocaps collaborators MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook, and Colin Croom (Twin Peaks, Waxahatchee’s live band) are in the midst of a short Snocaps tour, and not only is it a rare chance to catch Katie and Lenderman especially in smaller rooms than they typically play lately, but yes, they’re playing P.S. Eliot songs.

Material from Allison’s band Swearin’ and Waxahatchee songs have also been making their way into the setlists of these shows, and the penultimate night of the tour, the first of two NYC shows at Bowery Ballroom on Sunday (12/7), was a treat from beginning to end. The Snocaps material sounds just as fresh and infectious live as on record, and the Waxahatchee songs they included were some of her older, more indie rock-leaning tracks that haven’t gotten much play on her recent tours – like American Weekend‘s “Bathtub,” which they played during the encore in honor of Cook’s birthday. Like he did for their Jimmy Fallon performance, Lenderman stuck mostly to playing drums on Sunday night, switching to guitar only for the final song of the night, a rendition of P.S. Eliot’s “Like How You Are” that Allison took over drums for.

Brennan Wedl, who Katie has shouted out on her Substack, opened Sunday night’s show; she also opens Katie and Lenderman’s 2026 solo tour. See pictures from the night, the setlist, and attendee-taken video below.

The short tour wraps up with a second Bowery Ballroom show tonight (12/8), and it’s totally sold out. They have one more date, at Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky destination festival in January, and after that Katie and Allison say they’ll “put the project on ice for the foreseeable future.”
