SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Food Bank is once again helping families this holiday season by giving out fresh produce.

Partnering with H-E-B and dozens of regional farmers and produce vendors, the food bank plans to distribute more than 3 million pounds of fruits and vegetables to families in need.

This marks the 14th annual Harvest from the Heart campaign, which provides fresh produce during the holiday season. Organizers plan to deliver over 75 truckloads of fruits and vegetables.

Some of the program’s biggest partners include H-E-B, local farmers, distributors, retail stores, food brokers, gardeners, corporations, and individuals.

The event kicks off today at 10 a.m., ensuring many families will receive fresh produce just in time for the holidays.
