Omar Cruz struck out seven in a solid start and Triple-A El Paso’s bats fashioned an eight-run eighth inning to pull away with a 12-3 win on Saturday at Albuquerque.

The left-handed Cruz (5.28 ERA) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while throwing 51 of his 79 pitches for strikes.

Right-hander Raul Brito (5-2, 6.98 ERA) earned the win with three hits allowed over two shutout innings in relief.

Catcher Rodolfo Duran (.678 OPS) drove in three runs on two hits, including his fourth homer.

Shortstop Clay Dungan (.850 OPS) drove in two runs on a double and a triple.

Third baseman Mason McCoy (.887 OPS) doubled and second baseman Nate Mondou (.768 OPS) doubled during a two-hit game.

El Paso is 46-40.
