Fire officials responded to a three-alarm apartment fire Wednesday morning, according to a Fort Worth Fire Department social media post.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the 13700 block of Gazebo Lane in far east Fort Worth at about 8:13 a.m., according to Craig Trojacek, Fort Worth fire spokesperson.

Over 20 units and around 100 firefighters from the Fort Worth and Euless departments responded to the scene.

About 50 people were displaced from the complex. One firefighter sustained burns and was transported to a hospital, but no other injuries were reported, the post said.

The American Red Cross was also on the scene providing disaster relief assistance to displaced residents, according to Trojacek.

Though harsh winds between 20-29 mph made the fire difficult to extinguish, firefighters were able to put it out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
