Petros, a Greek-inspired restaurant brand led by owner Petros Benekos, is preparing to open a new location in Los Angeles at 2121 Sawtelle Boulevard.
The company’s new Los Angeles location is set to replace the former home of Spoon & Pork, according to a recently submitted liquor license application. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the location will bring Petros’s signature “Chic Greek” dining experience to the West Los Angeles neighborhood, combining traditional Greek recipes with fresh California ingredients.
Founded in 2007, Petros opened its flagship restaurant in Manhattan Beach, which Zagat recognized as a “Top New Restaurant.” The brand has since expanded to Santa Barbara and Playa Del Rey, offering a mix of full-service restaurants, catering, and private events through its Villa and Vine concept.
Benekos began his culinary journey in Ioannina, Greece, learning from his mother about the importance of fresh, local ingredients and traditional techniques. After honing his skills in France, Benekos brought his approach to California, combining Greek heritage products with locally sourced produce and wines.
The Petros menu blends the best ingredients from Greece and California, including imported olive oil, feta, honey, oregano, and wines, alongside fresh organic vegetables from the brand’s Los Olivos farms. The restaurants are designed to deliver a complete experience with food, handcrafted wine, and events that reflect Benekos’s passion for tradition and quality.
This will be an excellent landing space for Petros on Sawtelle Boulevard, a bustling corridor known for its diverse culinary offerings and strong local traffic. With multiple locations already serving Southern California communities, the new Los Angeles restaurant represents another step in the brand’s expansion and commitment to farm-to-table Greek cuisine.
