FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (December 11, 2025) – The Northern Arizona men’s basketball team concludes their stretch of three consecutive road games on Saturday at San Diego in the Jenny Craig Pavilion at 4 p.m. MST.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. The Northern Arizona Healthcare NAU Lumberjack Radio Network pregame show with Mitch Strohman begins at 3:30 p.m. MST.

Both NAU and San Diego will look to end respective losing streaks on Saturday. The Lumberjacks dropped their third straight game on Tuesday at Arizona State, 73-48, falling to 4-5 this season with four more games until the start of Big Sky play. Meanwhile, San Diego suffered its fifth consecutive loss Tuesday night at home to USC, 94-81. The Toreros are 3-6 with all three wins coming on their home floor.

NAU remains on the search for its first win away from Flagstaff. NAU is 4-1 at home this season and 0-4 elsewhere.

On Tuesday, Isaiah Shaw paced all players with 21 points against the Sun Devils. It was Shaw’s third 20-point game of the season and he is tied for second on the team with 11.3 points per game. Shaw is shooting 50% from the field, 46.2% from 3-point range and a Big Sky leading 87.5% at the free throw line.

Zack Davidson recorded his fifth straight double-digit scoring game, complementing Shaw with 12 points versus Arizona State. Davidson is averaging a team-best 15.9 points per game, keeping him in fifth in the Big Sky. Ryan Abelman is the Lumberjacks’ third double-digit scorer, on average, at 11.3 points per game and he also leads the team with 6.2 rebounds per game. Abelman has notched at least six rebounds in five games.

The Lumberjacks and Toreros are meeting for the 20th time in program history. San Diego leads the all-time series, 12-7, including an 8-1 record at home. NAU’s only road win in the series came in overtime, 75-73, in the teams’ first meeting in 1966-67. Saturday will be the first matchup between the two teams since the Jerry Colangelo Classic in 2021 where the Toreros claimed a 69-59 win in downtown Phoenix.

In addition to snapping a four-game losing streak to San Diego, NAU is also looking to pick up its first win over a West Coast Conference opponent, outside of Pacific, since 2014. NAU is 3-14 against WCC foes in the last 10 seasons with all three wins coming over Pacific.

The Toreros have played two Big Sky teams this season, notching a win against Idaho and a narrow loss to Idaho State, both at home.

San Diego averages 74.0 points per game and is allowing 76.6 on average. The Toreros find success in transition, ranking in the top 100 nationally with 13.8 fastbreak points per game, and at the free throw line where they are shooting 78.9% as a team, good for 12th in the country.

Ty-Laur Johnson leads the Toreros with 11.1 points per game and 30 assists. Johnson also ranks second in the West Coast Conference with 2.0 steals per game. Toneari Lane leads the team with 19 3-pointers made and is third on the team with 10.1 points per game.
