Man dies after crashing e-bike into motorcycle near Jacksonville’s Southside, police say

  • July 6, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died Sunday morning after his e-bike crashed into a motorcycle near Jacksonville’s Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the crash occurred on Beach Boulevard just before noon when the e-bike rider crossed into the path of a man driving a Harley-Davidson as they both approached the roadway.

Both men were taken to the hospital, where the e-bike rider was declared dead.

It is unknown at this time if the e-bike’s rider was wearing a helmet.

Police said this crash marks the 83rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year, and the seventh involving a bicyclist.

Two westbound lanes of Beach Boulevard were shut down due to the crash, resulting in significant traffic delays.

JSO said the delays will continue for about 45 minutes as detectives complete their investigation.

The full briefing by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office can be watched below.
