Moore will begin the role on Feb. 15, 2026.
RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Richland Hills has appointed Jason Moore as its next city manager, Mayor Curtis Bergthold and the City Council announced this week.
Moore’s first day on the job will be Feb. 15, 2026.
The appointment follows the resignation of current City Manager Candice Edmondson, who has accepted the same position with the City of Aledo.
Moore is returning to Richland Hills for a second time. He previously spent nearly four years as the city’s assistant city manager before resigning in 2018. During that period, he oversaw multiple departments, managed major capital improvement projects, and played a central role in developing The LINK Event and Recreation Center.
Since 2021, Moore has served as executive director of the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation, leading strategic planning, major development projects and marketing initiatives.
Mayor Bergthold praised the hire as a strategic step for the city’s future.
“By appointing Jason Moore as our new City Manager, Richland Hills is gaining a proven leader whose deep experience in economic development and strong relationships with staff and council will move our city forward,” Bergthold said. “His long history with our community… makes him the right choice to guide Richland Hills into its next chapter.”
Moore said he is eager to return to the city.
“With great leadership across the Mayor, Council, city management, and staff, Richland Hills is well positioned to continue its excellence in delivering municipal services and a high quality of life for its residents and businesses,” Moore said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity… and look forward to returning and seeing some familiar faces.”
In November, the city appointed Wes Rhodes as the new chief of the Richland Hills Fire Department.
