DALLAS (KFDA) – Both Eastern New Mexico basketball teams stayed undefeated in conference play after defeating UT Dallas on the road.
The women’s team got a fast start, winning the first quarter 18-8 over the Comets. They continued to pour it on, scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter alone to seal the 68-47 win.
As a team, ENMU shot 37% from the field, 41.7% from three, and 78.3% from the charity stripe. They also recorded 40 rebounds, 15 assists, 12 steals, and four blocks.
Shay Moseberry had an incredible game, scoring a season-high 26 points and outscoring everyone on both teams. Julieta Ceja and Aaliyah Smith were also double-digit scorers, totaling 13 and 10 respectively.
The Greyhounds are now 6-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
They’ll be back in action for the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas, facing Western Washington on Dec. 19 and Simon Fraser on Dec. 20.
The men’s teams played right after, and ENMU got the close 90-83 victory over the Comets.
UT Dallas kept it close even when the Greyhounds started to pull away, but ENMU would find a way to seal the win at the end to grab their eighth win this season.
As a team, the Greyhounds shot 59% from the floor, 27.3% from the arc, and 60% from the free-throw line. They also totaled 35 rebounds, 21 assists, 15 steals, and two blocks.
Cooper Jackson led ENMU in points with 22. He was one of four scorers in double-digits on the night: Jose Murillo (16), Treyvon Byrd (12) and Austin Abrams (11).
ENMU is now 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
They’ll be back in action Dec. 19 on the road to face Western Oregon.
