Crews battle rowhome fire in South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Firefighters responded to a rowhome fire in South Philadelphia early Saturday morning, officials said.

The blaze broke out just before 1:30 a.m. on the 3200 block of South Sydenham Street.

Smoke and flames were seen coming from the roof of the home as crews worked quickly to contain the blaze.

It took about 20 minutes for first responders to bring the flames under control.

Authorities say everyone inside the home was able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
