Phoenix set to break heat records on Sunday

  • December 14, 2025

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A nice start to our morning with lows in the upper 40s to the lower 50s.

This afternoon, we are expecting a few passing clouds and warm temperatures for this time of year.

Highs will be around 81 degrees this afternoon, beating the old record high of 79 degrees.

Another warm day is forecast for Monday, with a high of 80; the record is 79, so Monday could also be a record-breaker.

Tuesday will be a bit cooler, but still well above normal, with a high of 78.

Highs on Wednesday through Friday are forecast in the upper 70s with mostly sunny skies.

Saturday may be a tad cooler with highs in the mid-70s.

For the high country, highs will be 10-20 degrees above normal with dry conditions.

Some high clouds will move in tonight and persist into Sunday, knocking temperatures down by a few degrees.

Winds may pick up a bit by the end of next week as the mild conditions continue.
