A woman was shot as a large crowd popped fireworks near a convenience store in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside on Saturday night, police said.
Police said several officers were in the area around east Hattie Street and Interstate 35W when there were shots fired from the intersection of New York Avenue and East Annie Street.
A woman was struck by gunfire in the torso. She received emergency medical attention and was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, police said.
A 911 caller reported there were between 50 and 100 people who had gathered outside the OK Food Mart. The crowd was shooting off fireworks and blocking the road in front of the convenience store at about 9:30 p.m., according to the 911 call log.

Officers were able to locate and detain several people who were seen loitering in front of the store, police said.
Police said officers separated the crowd after it got out of control.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Detectives with the gun violence unit are investigating, police said.
Police also are investigating several separate shootings on Sunday morning, which left at least one person dead and one wounded.
