Glendale’s kids are growing up with the Hometown Christmas Parade as a downtown tradition.
Saturday’s 12th edition of the parade along Glendale Avenue from 52nd Avenue to 58th Avenue featured a whopping 126 entries – many of them focused on or including the youth of the community or nearby Peoria or Phoenix.
Apollo High School seniors Lydia Smith and Whitney Christman led the school’s marching band near the front of the parade. Both have marched in the parade in all four years of high school.
