SAN ANTONIO — The Azle Hornets boys traveled a long way to wrestle, and they made their travels well worth it.

The Fort Worth area team, ranked third in the state, beat the host school, Pieper Warriors 43-26 to win the boys side of the 4th annual Ultimate Warrior Duals.

The win came just three days after it rolled past Arlington Heights, 48-24.

The host school did capture the top spot on the girls side, beating their rival, the Smithson Valley Rangers, on a seldom-used sixth tie breaker. The match ended with both teams at 42 points. The referee called coaches over to the head table to go over the criteria to break the tie. The teams tied on the first five, so it was decided on criteria F, the team with the fewest forfeits. The Rangers had two, the Warriors none; giving the Warriors the championship.
