CHICAGO (WLS) — At least 50 people have been shot, six fatally, in gun violence across the city so far this Fourth of July weekend, Chicago police said.

A man was shot to death inside a vehicle on the city’s North Side on Saturday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said the shooting happened in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood’s 800-block of North Cambridge Avenue just after 9:45 a.m.
A 46-year-old man was inside a vehicle when someone fired shots, striking him in the back, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
One person of interest is in custody, police said.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.

One the same morning, a man was found shot to death on the city’s West Side, police said.
Officers responded to the Austin neighborhood’s 1000-block of North Lavergne Avenue just before 5 a.m.
A 30-year-old man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
No one is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
Hours earlier, four people were injured, three critically, in a mass shooting near the Cook County Courthouse, police said.
Officers responded to a call about walk-in gunshot victims at Mt. Sinai Hospital around 1:45 a.m.
The victims were sitting in a parked vehicle near South California Avenue and West 27th Street in the Little Village neighborhood.
That’s when a male drove a dark SUV past the group, and people inside fired shots, police said.
Three men, 32, 26 and 25, were shot in the body and are listed in critical condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
A fourth man, 33, was shot in the leg. He is listed in fair condition at the same hospital.
No one is in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
A man was found shot to death on the city’s South Side late Friday night, police said.
Officers responded to a call about a person shot in the West Englewood neighborhood’s 6400-block of South Winchester Avenue around 11:55 p.m.
Responding officers found a 36-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Marco A. Velasquez-Sierra.
The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
There is no one in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
And just minutes earlier, at least seven people were seriously injured in another mass shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said.
Police said officers responded to the 4800-block of South Justine Street just before 11:15 p.m.
Two men walked up and started shooting into a crowd of people outside, police said.
All of the victims were hospitalized in serious to critical condition.
A 27-year-old woman, shot in the leg, is listed in serious condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
A 21-year-old woman, shot in the thigh, is listed in serious condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
A 21-year-old man, shot in the quad and foot, is listed in serious condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
A 29-year-old man, shot in the arm, is listed in serious condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
A 25-year-old woman, shot in the flank, is listed in serious condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
A 25-year-old woman, shot in the buttocks, is listed in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
A 42-year-old man, shot in the leg, is listed in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
No one is in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
Minutes earlier, an Avalon Park shooting left a teenage girl dead and a man injured, police said.
Police said the shooting happened in the Avalon Park neighborhood’s 1200-block of East 83rd Street around 11 p.m.
A male suspect approached a 16-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man, took out a gun and fired shots, police said.
Officers responded to Jackson Park Hospital, where the teen, shot in the throat, died from her injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified her as Meeyah Smith.
The man, shot in the thigh, is listed in good condition.
There is no one in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
Two women were shot, one fatally, on the city’s South Side early Thursday morning, police said.
Police said officers responded to a call about a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood’s 7100-block of South Jeffery Boulevard just before 12:30 a.m.
A 37-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman were inside a home with a male of an unknown age.
The male took out a gun and demanded the victims’ property, police said.
Police said a struggle ensued, and the male fired shots before fleeing from the scene.
The 29-year-old woman, shot in the neck and chest, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The 37-year-old woman, shot in the arm, was taken to the same hospital in good condition.
There is no one in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
On the same morning, four people were wounded in a shooting on the Far South Side, police said.
The shooting took place at about 3:17 a.m. in the 600-block of East 133rd Street.
Police said a group of people were outside when someone opened fire.
Four people were transported to hospitals, including two in critical condition.
Hours later, three men were shot in the city’s Englewood neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened around 12:53 p.m. in the 1600-block of West 59th Street, police said.
A 51-year-old, shot in the groin, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, CPD said. Two men, ages 40 and 50, were also shot and taken to hospitals in good condition.
Minutes later, a man was killed in a drive-by shooting in the city’s Jeffery Manor neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened in the 9900-block of South Bensley Avenue around 1:20 p.m.
A 21-year-old man was on the sidewalk when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, police said.
The victim, shot in the body multiple times, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Area Two detectives are investigating. Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
