This week, mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is expected to make a handful of appointments to his incoming administration.
While his transition team is still assessing candidates for top positions, they are also considering keeping on current senior officials tapped by Mayor Eric Adams.

She took over the position at the beginning of this year and has an extensive background in education — taking on many roles from superintendent, principal and teacher.
Aviles-Ramos joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” to discuss more.
